Learn how to make Baklava

Are you a dessert lover? If yes, then you can’t help but fall in love with Baklava, a popular Greek pastry. You don’t have to go in search of Baklava to taste it. You can make it at home easily. Baklava made with a flaky phyllo pastry dough is one of the easiest desserts to make. The best part of making Baklava is – you can play around with the filling and add your own flavors. Isn’t that interesting?

Well, here goes the recipe from pioneer woman.com

You will need:
1 package phyllo dough
4 cups – nuts of your choice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter
2 cups honey
0.5 cup water
0.5 cup sugar
3 tsp Vanilla

• Preheat the oven to 350 F
• Butter a 9×13 pan
• Toss nuts, sugar and cinnamon in a food processor and chop roughly to make the filling
• Brush the top sheet of phyllo with melted butter and place it on the pan. Place another unbuttered sheet on top of it. Repeat the process until you have six sheets of phyllo in the pan.
• Spread the prepared filling over the layer
• Top with 4 more buttered layers
• Cut a diagonal pattern using a knife
• Bake for 45 minutes

While Baklava gets ready in the oven, prepare the syrup by combining sugar, water, butter, honey and vanilla in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat. Drizzle the syrup over the baklava as soon as you remove it from the oven. Cool and get ready to dig into the yummiest dessert on earth! Don’t feel like making it at home?
